Why this question is important to Yanina:
I submitted this question because all strife comes from not understanding and not having compassion for each other. In this changing and turbulent world, there is an opportunity to know one another, and not only tolerate one another but truly to become friends.
Through work in the interfaith community, I have developed relationship with people of many faiths. While it is true that we all respect each other’s viewpoint, we need to do more and become immersed in each others’ traditions in order to feel truly connected. I hope this Parliament inspires smaller but still important organizations and groups to carry forward the notion that we are all connected and in order to thrive, we must acknowledge this interdependence.
