Why this question is important to Kathlyn:
This question emerged in a conversation about women and leadership with Anne Fitzgerald, my friend and co-creator of “Gather the Women”. The question immediately felt alive in me, inviting me into layers of inquiry and curiosity: What happens inside me as a woman when I begin to step into leadership? How is my leadership received by the people I love, by the men in my life, by the women in my life, and by the larger world? What would be different in the world if men and women were equally valued as leaders in all our realms of activity? I believe that women are quietly carrying vast rivers of wisdom, compassion and life skills not yet fully valued or utilized by our world. I also believe now is the time to trust those rivers.
I have worked with women and women’s organizations both locally and globally for the past decade of my life. I have been blessed to be able to develop relationships with women all over the world and to witness the remarkable things that happen when women lead.
__________
Kathlyn’s question is one of thousands of questions gathered during a dropping knowledge question campaign. The power of these questions is evident. These questions demonstrate just how thoughtful the public can be if asked to name what it believes is important.

I also felt the aliveness in me when I read your reasons for your question and agree with you Kathryn. May be one day the world will be a peaceful place to live and that day may come when women value their wisdom, compassion and Love for mankind.Cheers
