How Do We Reach The Most Fearful And Most Greedy?

How Do We Reach The Most Fearful And Most Greedy?

Lisa Ann Gold, 52, Los Angeles, CA

Why this question is important to Lisa:

Ever since bottled water became a commodity in the USA this thought has been on my conscience.  1990 or so is when I first noticed it and even succumbed to buying it even when there are so many other methods and so many negative consequences: groundwater pollution, superfund sites.  Bottled water has not always been the norm, nor is it in other places.  Having met people that live in remote areas of California that hooked up plumbing  when they intended all along to use their gray water, and knowing that waterless toilets have existed for at least 25 years, I do not understand why the big corporations still have so much power simply because people believe it is uncivilized and backward to compost their waste and have no interest in the rooftop gravity/passive hot water tanks that have dotted the desert of the Middle East for such a long time.

I am pleased that more people are asking big questions. For a long time I was made to believe that to ask was considered childish, to receive an answer is unheard of.

Often power is linked to money and fear of lack seems to drive humans for power over each other.  When and why is it so hard to see it as a vicious cycle that must be made conscience.
