Can Spiritual Education Be Part Of Regular School Curriculum?

Week4_Q3_SpiritualEduc Ganapathy, 48, Melbourne, Australia

Why this question is important to Ganapathy:

I have been a spiritual education teacher for 15 years.  The values Love, Peace, Truth, Non-violence and right action form the basis for the curriculum and equip the students to live with these values.  Spiritual education also fosters the unity of all faiths and the need for a common understanding of values.  Spiritual and Religious education underpin the entire spectrum of social values and lay the foundation for harmony at home, the nation and the entire world.  Religions have espoused these values and further embellished them in the social context.  I very strongly believe that religious education is critical for society and to some extent grossly ignored in the present day world.  Governments and politicians can help a lot to foster this education.

Ganapathy’s question is one of thousands of questions gathered during a dropping knowledge question campaign. The power of these questions is evident. These questions demonstrate just how thoughtful the public can be if asked to name what it believes is important.
