Dr. Ceasar McDowell heads DKI and is also Professor of the Practice of Community Development at MIT and founder of MIT’s Community Innovation Laboratory and the Center for Reflective Community Practice. Dr. McDowell has over two decades of experience in the area of public engagement and in designing and conducting civic conversations that create opportunities for individuals from minority and poor communities to be included in a cross-generational and cross-racial/ethnic public discourse.
Jacqui Lindsay is Director of Global Partnerships at DKI. She brings over two decades of experience as an organizational development consultant working with organizations, communities, and leaders across sectors committed to social and systems change. She helps them build shared values, vision, and goals; harness the intelligence of their diverse members to deepen their collective knowledge, continuous learning, and shared culture; and develop the strategic plans, leadership, and partnerships necessary to achieve their goals.
Stev Stephens is Chief Operating Officer of DKI. He brings experience as a producer of multiple live national broadcast events to DKI. His previous four-year tenure was at The Smiley Group, a Los Angeles based media-company where he was COO and Producer, presiding over the television and radio divisions, an event production company, a speakers bureau, and book publishing company.
DKI Interns
Courage Cooper is currently a sophomore at MIT. He is seeking a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. He started working with DKI in 2009, and has been working over the summer on the launch of the question campaign for the Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions. He mainly works in preparing the launch of the question campaign website for DKI.
Duong Huynh is also a sophomore at MIT. She seeks a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design and a Minor in Public Policy. Before joining the DKI project, she has had experience in organizing a Voting Demonstration at her high school. She also helps in the operation of the Southeast Asian Leadership Network (SEALNet) at MIT through her efforts in attaining grants for the 2009 SEALNet Malaysian project. She joined DKI’s team in early summer of 2009, and has done outreach work to expand the contacts database. She currently works on editing the main DKI website, and aims to create ads for the CPWR question campaign in the near future.
Stephanie Shin is a senior at MIT working towards a Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies and Planning. She has been with the DKI project since Spring 2009 and has assisted with everything from research to outreach to editing media content for the website and question campaigns.
Sung Kim is a senior at MIT in the department of Urban Studies and Planning. She is the newest member on the DKI staff this Fall of 2009. Sung is currently helping to manage the WiserEarth website and working on the question campaign.
